01

General Questions

Basic information about ROLL DTF, DTF transfers, and how they work.

What is ROLL DTF?

ROLL DTF is a custom DTF transfer service for creators, clothing brands, print shops, and businesses that need vibrant, ready-to-press transfers without printing in-house. You can build a gang sheet online, upload a finished gang sheet, or order individual pre-cut transfers by size.

What does DTF mean?

DTF stands for Direct to Film. Your design is printed onto a special film, coated with adhesive powder, cured, and then heat pressed onto a garment. DTF is popular because it works with full-color artwork and can be applied to many fabric types.

What can I use DTF transfers on?

DTF transfers can be applied to t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, tote bags, cotton garments, polyester blends, and many other fabric-based products. Specialty fabrics, coated materials, ribbed garments, and heat-sensitive items should always be tested before full production.

Do I need a special printer?

No. We print the transfers for you. You only need a reliable heat press to apply them. A commercial heat press is strongly recommended because stable temperature and even pressure are critical for long-lasting results.

Can I use a household iron?

We do not recommend using a household iron. Irons usually do not provide consistent pressure or stable heat across the full design area. This can cause lifting, uneven adhesion, or poor wash durability.

Ordering Options

Choose the right order flow for your design, file, or production style.

What is the difference between Build a Gang Sheet, Upload a Gang Sheet, and Pre-Cut Transfers?

Build a Gang Sheet is for arranging your designs online. Upload a Gang Sheet is for customers who already have a completed print-ready gang sheet. Pre-Cut Transfers are for customers who want individual ready-to-press pieces ordered by size.

Which option should I choose if I already have a finished gang sheet?

Choose Upload a Gang Sheet. Your file should already be arranged at the correct sheet size and prepared exactly as you want it printed. We print uploaded gang sheets as submitted.

Which option should I choose if I want individual transfers?

Choose Pre-Cut Transfers or Transfers by Size. This is the easiest option if you do not want to build a full gang sheet or cut designs apart yourself.

Do you offer free pre-cut service?

Yes. If the product page includes a Free Pre-Cut option, select it before adding the item to your cart. Your request will appear in the order details so our team can prepare your transfers as ready-to-press individual pieces.

03

Artwork & File Preparation

Prepare clean, sharp, transparent artwork for the best print results.

What file types do you accept?

We recommend high-resolution transparent PNG files for most orders. Depending on the product page, accepted formats may also include PDF, AI, EPS, PSD, JPG, or TIFF. Always upload the cleanest and highest-quality version of your artwork.

Should my artwork have a transparent background?

Yes. Unless you intentionally want the background printed, your artwork should have a transparent background. Any visible pixels in the file may print, including white boxes, semi-transparent shadows, halos, or leftover background removal artifacts.

What happens if my file has a white background?

The white background may print as part of the design. DTF printing cannot automatically know which white areas are intentional and which should be removed. If you do not want a box around your design, upload a transparent file.

What resolution should my artwork be?

We recommend at least 150 DPI at the final print size, with 300 DPI preferred whenever possible. Low-resolution files may print blurry, pixelated, or soft, especially when enlarged.

Can you improve low-quality artwork?

We print the file you provide. Simple adjustments may sometimes help, but blurry, pixelated, compressed, or very low-resolution artwork cannot always be fully restored. The best print starts with a clean original file.

Can you match colors exactly?

We aim for vibrant and consistent color, but exact color matching is not guaranteed. Monitors, design software, color profiles, fabric type, lighting, and heat press settings can all affect the final result.

Can I upload Canva designs?

Yes. If you need a transparent background, make sure to export with the transparent background option. Also check that your file is high-resolution enough for the final print size.

04

Gang Sheet Questions

Learn how gang sheets work and how to prepare them correctly.

What is a gang sheet?

A gang sheet is a large sheet where multiple designs are arranged together. You can place logos, names, artwork, or repeated designs on one sheet and cut them apart after printing.

Why should I use a gang sheet?

Gang sheets are efficient when you need multiple designs or repeated prints. They help you use the available sheet area more effectively and can be a cost-effective option for larger production needs.

Do I need to fill the entire gang sheet?

No, but using more of the sheet gives you better value. Empty space is still part of the sheet size you ordered, so we recommend arranging your designs efficiently.

Will you rearrange my uploaded gang sheet?

If you upload a finished gang sheet, we print it as submitted. We do not automatically rearrange, resize, or optimize your designs unless a specific service is offered and selected.

How much space should I leave between designs?

Leave enough space to comfortably cut between designs. We recommend at least 0.25 inch when possible. More spacing may help for detailed shapes, small text, or manual cutting.

05

Pre-Cut Transfers

Individual ready-to-press transfers ordered by size.

What are Pre-Cut Transfers?

Pre-Cut Transfers are individual DTF transfers ordered by size instead of arranged as one large gang sheet. They are ideal if you want each design prepared as a separate ready-to-press piece.

Who should order Pre-Cut Transfers?

Pre-Cut Transfers are ideal for customers who want a simple ordering process, do not want to build a gang sheet, or prefer individual pieces for easier production. They work well for logos, labels, events, team apparel, and repeat designs.

Are Pre-Cut Transfers easier than gang sheets?

Yes. Gang sheets can provide strong value if you are comfortable arranging and cutting designs yourself. Pre-Cut Transfers are more convenient because each design is ordered by size and prepared for easier handling.

How is the price calculated?

Transfers by Size are usually calculated by width and height. The product page shows the available sizes and pricing so you can choose the option that fits your design.

Do you resize artwork for Pre-Cut orders?

Your selected size tells us the intended print size. Artwork proportions still matter. If your design has a different aspect ratio than the selected size, it may need to be scaled proportionally to avoid distortion.

06

Production & Turnaround

How order preparation, production speed, and possible delays work.

How fast do you produce orders?

ROLL DTF is built for fast production. Turnaround can vary depending on order volume, file readiness, product type, and special requests, but our goal is to keep your order moving quickly through production.

Does production time include shipping time?

No. Production time is the time needed to prepare and print your order. Shipping time begins after the package is handed to the carrier.

What can delay my order?

Common delay reasons include low-quality files, incorrect file dimensions, non-transparent backgrounds, missing artwork, unclear instructions, payment issues, peak production volume, or special service requests such as file editing or pre-cut preparation.

Can I change my artwork after ordering?

Contact us immediately. If production has not started, we may be able to update the file. Once the order is already in production, file changes may not be possible.

07

Shipping & Delivery

Tracking, delivery windows, address changes, and carrier-related questions.

How do you ship orders?

We use express shipping options whenever available. Delivery time depends on destination, carrier performance, holidays, weather, and processing time.

Will I receive tracking?

Yes. Once your order ships, you should receive a tracking number by email or SMS depending on the contact information provided at checkout.

My tracking says delivered but I cannot find the package. What should I do?

First check around the delivery location, mailbox area, front desk, reception, neighbors, or building office. If the package still cannot be found, contact the carrier with the tracking number and contact us with your order number so we can review the shipment information.

Can I change my shipping address after ordering?

Contact us as soon as possible. If the order has not shipped yet, we may be able to update the address. Once the package is with the carrier, changes may be limited or unavailable.

08

Heat Press Application

Recommended pressing workflow for clean, durable results.

How do I apply ROLL DTF transfers?

Use a heat press with medium to firm pressure. Pre-press the garment to remove moisture, place the transfer, press with the recommended settings, peel while hot, and optionally do a short second press with parchment paper or a finishing sheet.

What temperature should I use?

A general starting range is 275°F–300°F depending on your heat press and fabric. Presses can vary, so always test first before full production.

How long should I press?

A common starting range is 8–12 seconds. The correct time can vary depending on fabric, pressure, heat press accuracy, and garment thickness.

Should I pre-press the garment?

Yes. Pre-pressing for a few seconds helps remove moisture and wrinkles. This gives the transfer a smoother surface and improves adhesion.

Should I do a second press?

A short second press can improve durability and finish. After peeling, cover the design with parchment paper or a finishing sheet and press again for a few seconds.

Why did my transfer lift after peeling?

Possible causes include low pressure, low temperature, short press time, moisture in the garment, uneven pressure, cold spots on the press, or fabric incompatibility. Repress the area if the transfer has not fully released.

09

Washing & Care

Keep your pressed garments looking clean and long-lasting.

How should I wash garments with DTF transfers?

Wash garments inside out with cold water and mild detergent. Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals, and fabric softeners. Air drying is recommended for best long-term durability.

Can I use a dryer?

Air drying is best. If you use a dryer, use low heat. High heat can reduce the life of the print over time.

Can I iron over the design?

Do not iron directly on the design. If ironing is needed, turn the garment inside out or cover the print with parchment paper or a protective sheet.

How long should I wait before washing?

For best results, wait at least 24 hours after pressing before washing the garment.

10

Issues & Troubleshooting

Common print, artwork, pressing, and order issue explanations.

Why is my design not sticking?

The most common causes are insufficient pressure, low temperature, short press time, moisture in the garment, uneven pressing surface, or using an iron instead of a heat press. Verify your heat press settings and repress if needed.

Why are there white or grainy edges around my design?

This usually comes from the artwork file. Semi-transparent pixels, leftover background, soft shadows, or poor background removal can print as visible edges. Check your artwork on a dark background before uploading.

Why does my print look blurry?

Blurry prints usually come from low-resolution artwork, screenshots, compressed images, or artwork that was enlarged too much. Upload high-resolution artwork at the final print size.

Why are my colors different from my screen?

Screens use light and prints use ink. Color differences can happen because of monitor settings, color profiles, garment color, heat press settings, fabric type, and lighting. Exact color matching is not guaranteed.

What should I do if there is a problem with my order?

Contact us with your order number, clear photos, and a short explanation. For application issues, include photos of the garment, transfer film, and pressed result. A short pressing video is also helpful when available.
